Today, GoPro CEO Nick Woodman, had present the new GoPro Karma, the GoPro’s first drone.

img_0120-1024x576Karma goes on sale Oct. 23, has a game-style touchscreen controller for flying and viewing footage. That eliminates the need for a separate phone or tablet needed with many rivals to see what the drone camera is shooting.

The Karma drone can fly with the new Hero 5 Black, Hero 5 Session, and Hero 4. At the front of the drone there’s a 3-axis gimbal that stabilizes the cameras.
This gimbal you can also removed from the drone for handheld use.

The Karma drone has its camera positioned on the front, not slung underneath. GoPro says this will help eliminate the appearance of rotors.

Karma will go on sale on October 23rd. It costs $799 alone, $1,099 with a Hero 5, or $999 with a Hero 5 Session.
